Describe the modeling activities of your group (what meteorological, chemical transport and/or radiative transfer models are you using)
In
our group, we have carried out the Models-3/CMAQ modeling over East
Asia(20N-50N; 100E-160E). For the meteorological preprocessor, we have been
using the PSU/NCAR MM5 model with NCEP reanalysis data set. For this, we
also conducted data assimilation with observed MET data set like
QuckSCat data set. Based on the results, we have estimated aerosol optical properties
such as AOD and SSA over the same domain, and then compared with these aerosol
properties with satellite-retrieved data (e.g., Terra/MODIS, AQUA/ MODIS,
and AURA/OMI) and AERONET data. Then, we did data assimilation with such
4-D aerosol optical data using remote-sensed data. The final aerosol
products will be used for a thorough investigation of direct radiative forcing
(DRF) by aerosols over East Asia. Right now, we are working on it.
What emissions inventories are you using.
Basically,
INTEX-B emission inventory was used. But, for Korea and Japan, we used the
CAPSS and REAS emission inventories. Even further, for the consideration
of biogenic VOC emission, we used the MOHYCAN emissions, and for NH3
emissions, we also used the scaled EDGAR emission inventory. We also
applied monthly variations for many species, if they are available.
